MEKZ PLAY FREE

Privacy policy

DRAFT for review by a lawyer. Not legal advice and not yet our final policy. Last updated 2026-10-30.

MEKZ is a free robot arena game for everyone, kids included. We collect as little as we can, you can play without an account, and we never sell data.

The short version

What stays on your device

The game saves in your browser’s local storage: the name you pick, a random player id, your Cash, the cosmetics you own and wear, your best size, your daily streak, your settings and your language. Clearing your browser’s site data deletes all of it.

What reaches our servers

Playing online

When you play online, your browser connects to our game server and sends the name you chose, your robot’s look and your inputs (movement, aim, firing) so the match can run. Other players in the arena see your name, your robot and what it does.

Leaderboards

After a run, the server keeps your name with your peak size and kills on the daily and all-time boards. Names are filtered, and boards show only the best run per name.

Anonymous counts

The game sends simple counts: your random player id, a random id for this visit, which step happened (visit, match started, match finished, played again, still playing) and seconds played. Test browsers never report. We use these counts only to see whether the game works and whether people come back.

Server logs

Our hosting providers (Vercel for the website, Cloudflare for the game server) process technical data such as IP addresses to deliver pages and stop abuse, and keep these logs briefly under their own policies. We do not store IP addresses in our own database.

Build cards and shares

The picture of your robot at the end of a run is drawn on your device. It only leaves your device if you share or save it yourself.

Ads

MEKZ does not show third-party ads yet; the spaces where ads may appear later are marked “Ad”. When ads start, players under 13 or of unknown age only ever get ads that do not track them. When you play MEKZ on a game portal (such as Poki or CrazyGames), that portal shows its own ads under its own privacy policy.

Children

MEKZ is made to be safe for kids. We do not ask for or knowingly collect personal information such as names, emails, addresses, phone numbers or photos from anyone. Every player is treated as a protected (under-13) player unless they tell us otherwise at the moment it matters, and a protected player never gets chat, tracking ads or paid randomness.

Note for review: confirm our position under COPPA (US), the UK Age Appropriate Design Code and GDPR Article 8, including whether the random player id counts as personal information.

How long we keep things

Your choices and rights

You can play without any account and change your name at any time. To remove a name from a leaderboard, or for any question about your data, write to hello@mekz.io. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, UK or California) you may have further rights, including to complain to your data protection authority.

Who runs MEKZ

MEKZ is made and run by the MEKZ team (“we”). Service providers: Vercel (website hosting) and Cloudflare (game server and storage).

Note for review: add the legal entity, address, data controller details and any EU/UK representative.

Contact

Email hello@mekz.io. We will change the date at the top when this policy changes and tell players in the game about important changes.
