For parents
A short guide for parents and carers.
What MEKZ is
A free browser game: you drive a small robot around an arena, shoot parts off other robots, bolt them onto yourself and grow. A run lasts a few minutes. Robots fall apart into bolts; there is no blood.
Who your child plays with
A mix of other players and computer-controlled robots. Players cannot message each other; the only way to communicate is four fixed emotes.
Protected by default
Every player is treated as under 13 unless they say otherwise, and we only ask for an age at the moment it matters (never as a pop-up on the first visit). A protected player gets no chat, no tracking ads and no paid randomness.
Money
The game is free. Cash is earned by playing and has no money value. There are no loot boxes. If real-money items arrive later, a protected player will need a parent to approve them.
Data
Progress stays in the browser. Online play sends the chosen name and inputs to our server so the match can run. See the privacy policy.
Helpful settings
- Sound, music and effects volume.
- Reduced motion (no camera shake), colour-blind-safe danger marks and bigger text.
- Streamer mode hides room codes and other players’ names.
Questions and deletion
Clear the browser’s site data to remove local progress. Email hello@mekz.io to remove a name from the leaderboards or ask anything.
